DIG this week's security tip

WORLD PASSWORD DAY

This Thursday, May 4th, World Password Day celebrates its 10th anniversary. World Password Day was created by Intel to create awareness about the importance of using strong passwords and changing passwords frequently.

World Password Day

At the DIG we celebrate World Password Day by following the following good password practices including:

  1. We always use strong passwords of at least 12 characters which are a mix of letters, numbers, and symbols.

  2. We use a password manager to remember which password goes with which account.

  3. We don’t save password in our browsers.

  4. We never reuse passwords from one account to another.

  5. We never share our passwords with others.

  6. We regularly update our passwords as prompted by systems or every 90 days, whichever comes first.

  7. We use multi-factor authentication whenever it is available.
